The Soup Run
The Soup Run is a service run by Christians in our area.
It is a combined effort run by all Colchester’s churches by rota to serve disadvantaged people in Colchester with soup and sandwiches every day.
St Peter ad Vincula Church, Coggeshall’s turn is every second Tuesday evening of the month by a rota of people who preparer the food and distributors.
New helpers are always welcome, distributors will need DBS checks. Do let me know if you would like to be involved.

With best wishes, Lynne Whiteside-Prior
For I was hungry and you fed me,
I was thirsty and you gave me water
– Matthew 25: 35-45
The soup which supplies our turn of the Soup Run is donated by our generous congregation once every year at St Peter ad Vincula’s Harvest Service, which is usually the first Sunday of October, everyone brings tins along which are placed with thanks at the altar.
The items usually required are tins of chicken (the most popular), minestrone / vegetable, beef and some pea and ham soup along with packets of biscuits and bags of sugar.
Please donate if you can.
If you are able to spare a couple of hours once a month on a Saturday morning, please do come along and help out our church cleaning team. It is hard work keeping our church looking beautiful and welcoming, and, as the saying goes, many hands make light work. There is also the bonus of sharing time with friends, and making new ones, and the added bonus of a tea break fortified by Ron’s carrot cake. A warm welcome awaits you.
